Media Relations

Since 2003, I have worked with the media to develop stories and other forms of coverage of the things I’ve done while also offering my voice in regard to a number of topics. For the most part, I’ve developed these relationships through my companies, Tumbleweed Entertainment and T.O.F.U. Magazine, but I’ve also garnered coverage through interviews and articles regarding my writing too. For more on that, you can check out the press category on the blog.

Tumbleweed Entertainment

During the time when Tumbleweed was my focus, as well as managing the Ceilidh Connection and all of its events, I worked mainly with print media due to the fact that digital media had yet to really gain dominance. At the time, I was using MySpace and a company website to promote shows and the bands I worked with, but I didn’t have access to social media platforms to reach any major audience.

Thankfully, numerous events that I managed received press attention, and I was also quoted in a variety of publications in regard to the all-ages scene within Atlantic Canada due to my being heavily involved with it.

As print media slowly gave way to such things as Facebook and Instagram, I adapted and learned how to use those platforms as well. Along with this, I began to produce my own video content in the form of tour blogs, music videos, and other recordings related to events. Thanks to this, I also developed and maintained a YouTube channel for the company, which continues to receive attention to this day.

T.O.F.U. Magazine

Through my work with T.O.F.U., I have managed to gain attention for issue releases, promotional events, and other things across print, digital, and radio media. Over the years, I have done countless interviews for blogs, podcasts, magazines, radio programs, and more to talk about my latest release, the general work of the magazine, and other topics that relate to the publication’s mandate.
