WAIW | Saigon SIM Card Scam
As I mentioned before, I’ve been regularly doing a series on T.O.F.U. Magazine’s YouTube channel to chronicle my adventures while I travel. It’s called Where Am I Wednesday, and it’s currently a mixed bag of travel tips, rambles on politics and other topics, and the odd adventure in whatever location I’m in. Oh, and there’s usually an animal or two (or three or four or five) thrown-in for good measure.
Since I’m going to focus more on the travel side of things on this blog, I decided to start including those episodes here.
So, here is today’s episode on a rather important topic for any traveller looking to visit Vietnam with the intent of staying connected. Since I’ve been hopping back and forth between Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam and parts of Thailand for several years now, I haven’t had to deal with this sort of thing as often due to simply keeping credit on a SIM card for each country. However, I decided to talk a little bit about the topic today just in case it might help someone else.
For more detail on how to get a SIM card in Vietnam, check out this blog or simply google it and poke around. Otherwise, watch the episode below to learn how to avoid being scammed and finding yourself with a dead SIM card soon after you start your adventure!
