TBT | Visiting the Batu Caves of Kuala Lumpur
Even though house sitting can involve a lot of time at home looking after animals, you’re often able to explore the area around you as well. Plus, if you plan things right, you can even get out to explore places before or after a sit.
Just under three years ago, I did exactly that while visiting Kuala Lumpur (KL), Malaysia, and I was able to see the Petronas Towers in the city centre just before I hopped on a train to head outside of KL to visit one of the holiest sites for Hinduism, the Batu Caves.
As you’ll see in the video that I throwback to below from the T.O.F.U. Magazine YouTube channel, the caves are a beautiful spot to visit, and the presence of monkeys can easily balance out just how many tourists you’re bound to be surrounded by when you’re there.
For more monkeys, you can also check out another video I shot while in KL. This time around, I didn’t venture nearly as far from my house sit to see them, and I got in a good hike while I was at it.
Note: I’ve actually been to visit the caves twice, and the stairs had been painted before my second visit. I chose to use a photo from that trip as the related image since I think it makes the scene a little more interesting!
