Best-Laid Plans Before a Pandemic
In hindsight, releasing my first book on full-time travel and house sitting just before a pandemic overtook the world and sent nearly everyone back home was probably not the best business move.
Of course, like everyone else, I certainly didn’t expect such a thing to happen back when I was planning my release in what seems like a time from a completely different world.
Now, as we come to terms with our new normal and speculate how long it will be until things go back to the way they were, I’m finding myself (like so many others) having to chase other options to pay the bills. As I mentioned before, I have the privilege of being somewhat of a digital nomad during all of this, so I’m most likely not in as bad of a situation as other folks. Actually, since I’m sitting tight in Vietnam, I feel like I’m doing better than many people I know, which is both comforting and frustrating at the same time.
Regardless, although I’m still struggling with Facebook imposing a lockdown on my magazine’s page at week-long regular intervals, I am finding myself being somewhat productive on other fronts. Outside of this site and T.O.F.U.’s YouTube channel, I’ve also been creating content for both Medium and a national paper here in Vietnam. If you’re interested, please check out the following pieces:
