In 2014, I quit my full-time job at a digital marketing agency to focus on my own projects, and I haven’t had to update my resume since. However, this website seemed like a good excuse to revamp it at least somewhat.
After all, aren’t websites basically the modern resume anyway?

- Compiling, editing, and development of content for internationally distributed vegan magazine.
- Management of contributors, advertisers, and staff in regards to each issue.
- Successfully planned, promoted, and completed a North American tour in 2009, a Canadian tour in 2011, and a second North American tour in 2014 to promote the magazine.
JAC
Copywriter and Social Media Manager

- Responsible for the creation and editing of content for clients involved in numerous business sectors such as tourism, real estate, and health.
- Oversaw the creation, planning, and implementation of a number of marketing campaigns for print, radio, and online, including the company’s longest standing social media client, Monastery Spa & Suites.
- During my time there, JAC received dozens of awards and nominations for both marketing and web design projects, including a Webby nomination for Best Association Website in 2010.
- Worked with the company both at the St. John’s office and from home in various locations, including Winnipeg, Montreal, and South Korea.

- Responsible for writing and editing various texts and materials for use within the Moon Kkang curriculum for children, teens, and adults.
- Involved with the development of several key projects to prepare students of various ages for tests in both written and verbal English comprehension.

- Part of a team responsible for the facilitation and organization of the Youth Leaders for Community Wellbeing Research and Leadership Camp held on Micou’s Island in 2010.
- Part of a team responsible for eleven youth who attended the 3rd International Conference on Gross National Happiness in Thailand in 2007.
- Administration of the organization’s website in relation to press releases, research reports, and media coverage.

- Event management including advertising and sponsorship, negotiations with local authorities, venue bookings, development of advertising and marketing strategies, and on-site control.
- Overseeing a substantial volunteer workforce in the entertainment industry (16-45 year olds).
- Lead organizer of the biggest free outdoor music event in Halifax during Summer 2003, 2004, and 2005.
- Organizer of musical component for annual Ceilidh for Critters.
- Sole organizer of annual Music for Life fundraising festival to aid Oxfam Canada.

- Responsible for overseeing the actions of volunteers in regards to venue admission, merchandise, stage management, and all other activities.
- Sole person responsible for providing the artists with their payments, event passes and other requirements.
- Liaison between the major sponsor, the artists and the venue.

- Responsible for maintaining video department inventory with respect to new releases and catalogue.
- Provision of recommendations and information to customers in regards to both music and video purchases.

Ceilidh Connection Café and Lounge
Event Coordinator, Manager

- Sole coordinator of Halifax’s most popular all-ages venue.
- Supervised all aspects of events held within the venue, including the training and management of a group of volunteer youth.
- Key contact for media correspondence, management of liquor licensing arrangements and other matters pertaining to such a venue.
- Oversaw equipment rental, setup and usage for the events.
Other
- General business management including opening and closing of café, training of new staff, network and computer maintenance, customer relations, and food and liquor service.
- Disaster Recovery Management. Implemented business recovery initiatives for the Ceilidh Connection following Hurricane Juan 2003. The business was completely operational within 24 hours.
