Event Management
Through both of my personal companies, as well as various other career opportunities, I’ve played a role in hundreds of events. Ranging from intimate house concerts to international festivals, I’ve worked with musicians, venue owners, management companies, media, facilitators, and more to ensure the successful production of concerts, seminars, outdoor events, and one-day events around the world.
Tumbleweed Entertainment
Although my time is now focused mainly on T.O.F.U., I oversaw a wide variety of events while operating my record label, Tumbleweed Entertainment. Originally based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, the company was involved in venue management for the Ceilidh Connection during its operation as both an all-ages and licensed establishment, artist management for numerous solo acts and bands, and event production for both local and touring acts.
Promoting numerous genres, I organized events based on both the needs of the acts and also the interests of the audience. Whether they were unplugged events in small spaces, including my own house, or heavier rock and metal events in larger venues, I played a key role in booking, promoting, and coordinating each and every one.
Thankfully, I also had a staff of volunteers (many of them youth involved with the local all-ages scene) who were eager to learn from me and help ensure each event went smoothly. To this day, a number of the people I worked with are still involved in the music industry.
Along with local productions within Halifax, I also planned many shows within Atlantic Canada, Canada, and the U.S.A. Most importantly, I even planned a theatre show in my home town with one of my favourite artists, Amelia Curran.
During the time that I focused my efforts on Tumbleweed Entertainment, I received numerous nominations from the provincial music industry, including Promoter of the Year 2004, Booking Agent of the Year 2006 & 2007, and Company of the Year 2007. Along with this, my events and the artists I worked with garnered both local and national media attention, and some continue to work within the industry to this day.
T.O.F.U. Magazine
Thanks to my experience with Tumbleweed, I’ve successfully planned and managed numerous events to promote T.O.F.U., including several international tours and a number of single events related to product releases. For more info, please check out the T.O.F.U. page here.
Other Events
Outside of my own companies, I’ve helped with numerous productions in a number of roles, including panel moderator, merchandise sales, entertainment coordinator, audio-visual production, volunteer, youth facilitator, and more.
Thanks to my travels, these opportunities have taken place around the world, including Canada, England, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Thailand, and the United States of America.
